No. There are no subscription or connectivity charges applicable.

An on-dash type will be introduced by Navi & Map in 2008.

Can I be tracked, or can I track my car using carnavi?
Carnavi is a navigation system that provides directions from your current location to your destination. It does not have any tracking capabilities.
What if the road changes? Can the digital map be updated?
Map updates are published by Navi & Map every 6 to 12 months in a DVD disc. Just insert the DVD into your carnavi and the system will automatically update the map.

Will the memory or data be deleted if the car battery is removed?
No, as data is stored in the hard disk drive.
What is the hard disk drive capacity?
The hard disk has a 30 gigabytes (GB) capacity. 20GB is used to store map data, and 10GB is reserved for music and image storage.
Can the ripping and navigation function work at the same time?
No.
Can I adjust carnavi's screen position?
Yes. Press and hold the 'OPEN' button for 1 second. carnavi has 5 tilt angles to choose from.
Can I record or copy DVD or radio broadcast to the hard disk?
No.
Can an external audio amplifier be connected to the car navigation system?
No.
What is the memory stick slot for?
The memory stick slot can be used to update the CDDB song database, copy images to the hard disk and to update the system application.
Can I copy mp3/WMA songs stored in a CD or memory stick to the carnavi hard disk?
No.
Can carnavi display the song title for mp3 format files?
Yes.
What will happen if the power supply to carnavi is interrupted when ripping a CD?
The recording would stop. Restoring power supply to carnavi will restart the ripping process.
Does the system play WMA files?
Yes.
Can the voice guidance be connected to the front speaker only?
Yes.
How many channels can carnavi GPS receive?
16 Channels.
What is the built-in gyro and speed sensors for?
The speed sensor detects the vehicle’s traveling speed, while the gyro sensor measures the car’s tilt and lateral movements. Together with GPS information, carnavi is able to accurately display the car’s position on the map, even on occasions when GPS signals are not available due to physical obstructions or poor weather conditions.
What should I do if the memory for stored points/saved route is full?
Delete the unused stored point/saved route.
How many stored points can be saved?
You can store up to 100 points.
