HDD-based Navigation

carnavi’s comprehensive map data, produced by Navi & Map, is stored in the 30GB hard disk drive. Maps are accessed and displayed instantly, and can be zoomed in or out, or panned in any direction without any delay.

Choose from front up, north up and 3D views…

‘3D Junction View’ displays the travel direction
for highway entrances and exits.

Once you’re on the road, carnavi will provide voice guidance in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin.

Facilities, places of interest and landmarks are displayed as colourful icons for instant recognition.

carnavi makes it easy for you to set your destination. Choose whichever method that suits you.

	Set your destination directly from the map on the touchscreen
	Search for your destination by entering the address
	Select from the Points of Interest (POI) list, which include banks, restaurants, shopping malls and lots more. carnavi® has over 36 POI categories to choose from.
	The Nearby POI feature gives you a list of Places of Interest within your vicinity.
	Set a location as ‘Home’ and press this button to get directions back home from anywhere.
	Store up to 100 of your favourite places, and carnavi will guide you to these places from your current location.

Other search functions:
	Search by road intersections
	Search by entering your destination's phone number
	Search by entering the latitude and longitude of your destination
	Search by entering the area postcode
	Revisit your last destination under the ‘Recent Destination’ list.

	Found an interesting place that you would like to revisit? Save the location in carnavi® using the ‘Stored Points’ feature. Heard about the best place for ‘nasi lemak’ and ‘char kuey teow’ from your friend? Save the location in carnavi® so that you can check it out this weekend.
To see your stored points and use it as a destination at any time, select ‘Stored Points’ from the ‘DEST’ screen.


How to Use Stored Points

1. Search for the place on the map, and press on the ‘QUICK’ button	2. A list of options will appear. Select ‘Store Point’

3. A red pushpin will appear, indicating that the location has been saved.	4. To customise your stored point, press the ‘Stored Points’ button, and select the stored point that you want to customise.

5. Add additional information such as name and phone number to the stored point.	6. Instead of the red pushpin, you can assign a unique icon for every stored point.

carnavi® does a 4-route calculation, giving you the freedom to choose the best route. Made a wrong turn along the way? carnavi® can automatically re-route you back to the right course.

Use the simulate function to get a general idea of the route...

and save the route, in case you need to go there again.	The ‘Route Edit’ feature allows you to add stopovers, or change your starting point and destination.

	Select the route colour and information that appears on the screen while you are driving.
	Choose the car icon and colour to represent your car in the navigation system.
	Set a password to prevent unauthorised use or theft, and configure the system settings, voice guidance language and map updates.
	Decide on the real-time information that you want to display on the screen, including latitude/longitude, vehicle speed, road names and more.
	Set your car’s speed for various road categories, and fine-tune it to get a more accurate arrival time.
	Adjust the 3D map viewing angle and map colour.
	Adjust the master volume for voice guidance.

Useful tip!
	Lost in the middle of nowhere? Inform others of your location by telling them your latitude and longitude. Select ‘INFO’ from the Navigation menu and press the ‘GPS Info’ button.
