Accurate map-matching capability, combined with a hybrid positioning system is a fundamental feature of carnavi®. Unlike conventional navigation systems that depend solely on GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites, carnavi® utilizes a hybrid positioning system that processes information not only from GPS satellites but also from sensors that are built into carnavi®.

The speed sensor detects the vehicle traveling speed, while the gyro sensor measures the car’s tilt and lateral movement. Together with GPS information, carnavi® is able to accurately display the car’s position on the map, even on occasions when GPS signals are not available due to poor weather conditions or physical obstructions.

carnavi’s physical dimensions are based on the 2-DIN industrial design standard to ensure perfect fitment in most car models. carnavi® will blend seamlessly with your dashboard layout, whether it is installed by the manufacturer (as an OEM component) or by an authorized carnavi® dealer.

The 2-DIN design easily accommodates a 7-inch wide, touch sensitive screen. This deliberate design decision was to ensure ease of use, while at the same time providing clear images in various driving conditions.

The HDD Audio function, also known as Music Stocker has a CD-ripping software that converts audio CDs into digital music files at 14x and stores it in carnavi’s hard disk. The Music Stocker can store up to 3,000 songs or 400 albums, which is equivalent to having a 400-disc CD changer in your car. The built-in CD Database from Gracenote can recognise close to 95% of CDs, and provide the song and album information for the music files.

Play DVDs on carnavi®, and use the touch-screen to access DVD features. Install an additional screen for DVD playback so that your passengers can enjoy movies too. Movies are played in surround sound, thanks to SRS-CS Auto™ technology.

	Driver safety is always a primary concern, therefore carnavi® comes with Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity for hands-free mobile phone operation.
